As with so many artists, Veroni’s attempts to apply for grants through the Arts Council are taking him nowhere. Before a rarefied art scene, the lack of patrons, reliable or committed gallery owners and neo-conceptual art as mainstream, Veroni’s hopes of supporting himself through art are gone. This series of mini-prints called THE LOTTERY PROJECT are based on a survival plan: each print sold can buy a new lottery ticket. With the money spent on each of these prints the artist will pay the gallery commission (£ 0.70), material and display expenses (£ 0.30) and a new lottery ticket (£ 1.00). Through this regular exchange of art for hope the artist is expecting to win the lottery one day and then move to more ambitious projects like making bigger and better artwork or having a family. It is a well known fact that lottery money goes in part to the Arts Councils. In that way you and the artist are still contributing to the arts (like it or not). Ral Veroni . Glasgow

Esperar por el éxito y el reconocimiento mantiene a los
artistas subordinados a las instituciones culturales a cargo de
distribuir dinero y prestigio. Como con tantos otros artistas los
intentos de Veroni de presentarse a las becas y subsidios del Consejo
de las Artes lo están llevando a ninguna parte. Ante un enrarecido
y desgastado ambiente artístico, la falta de mecenas, galeristas
confiables y el neoconceptualismo como moda de turno las esperanzas
de Veroni de mantenerse asi mismo como artista se diluyen.Esta serie de grabados de pequeño formato llamada EL PROYECTO DE LA LOTERIA está basada en un plan de supervivencia: cada grabado vendido puede comprar un nuevo billete de lotería. Con el dinero que usted invierte al comprar cada uno de estos grabados el artista pagará la comisión de la galería (£ 0.70), material y gastos de presentación (£ 0.30) y un nuevo billete de la lotería (£ 1.00). A través de este intercambio de arte por esperanza el artista espera ganar algun día a la lotería y así poder dedicarse a proyectos más ambiciosos como hacer obras más grandes y mejores o tener una familia. Es bien sabido que parte de los ingresos de la Lotería Nacional son destinados al Consejo de las Artes. De este modo usted y el artista continúan contribuyendo con las artes (le guste o no).
